America's Gateway to Space.

One of OSU AIAA's newest projects, the USLI team competes with other collegiate teams from across the nation in a premier competition: the NASA Student Launch. The multi-day competition is situated near NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center and challenges students to develop a rocket capable of flying to a team-declared altitude and carrying a rover which is able to be driven to a predetermined collection zone and collect 10 mL of lunar "ice", store it in the rover, and then carry the "ice" 10 ft out of the zone in any direction.

Cross-disciplinary Teamwork.

The USLI team is composed of a diverse array of students specializing in robotics, avionics, propulsion, controls, composites manufacturing, material science, aerodynamics, explosives, and education. Students of all ability levels are encouraged to join us; enthusiasm is the prime requirement!

We invite students to join any of our subteams:

  • Aero Recovery and Propulsion

  • Structures

  • Budget and Finance

  • Documentation Experts

  • Payload

  • Safety

  • STEM Engagement

  • Structures and Propulsion

  • Volunteer Projects
